Advanced Soft Tissue & Fascia Therapy

Target pain. Restore function. Reclaim performance.

At Prater Chiropractic, we go beyond adjustments to address what really holds athletes back—tight, damaged, and restricted soft tissues. Our fascia-focused, hands-on treatments are designed to reduce pain, unlock mobility, and restore full-body function from the ground up.

What Is Soft Tissue & Fascia Therapy?

Your muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia form a complex network that affects how you move, feel, and recover. Injuries, repetitive strain, and poor movement patterns can create scar tissue, trigger points, and restricted fascia that limit your body’s performance and healing.

We use specific techniques to locate and release these restrictions—so your joints move better, pain reduces, and performance returns.

“The fascia forms the largest system in the body as it is the system that touches all the other systems.” - James Oschman, PhD

That’s why treating fascia is key to resolving chronic pain, mobility loss, and poor muscle function.

What This Treats

  • Chronic tightness (neck, hips, shoulders)

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Tendonitis and tendinosis

  • Hamstring and quad adhesions

  • IT band syndrome

  • Post-injury scar tissue

  • Fascial distortion patterns

  • “Stuck” joints that resist adjustment

  • Recurrent muscle strains

Techniques We Use

  • Myofascial release is a technique aimed at easing tension and pain in the muscles and fascia. Dr Prater applies sustained pressure to specific areas of tension or restriction in the fascia. Healthy soft tissue supports a full range of motion and can help prevent injury. Releasing tension in myofascial trigger points can help remedy dysfunction in myofascial tissues throughout the body.

  • Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is a technique that uses specialized instruments (such as the Graston Technique) to remove scar tissues from injured soft tissues and facilitate healing process. It helps increase your range of motion and decrease pain.

  • Friction Therapy is a technique that involves applying pressure to the muscles and tissue to break down adhesions/ scar tissue and improve circulation.

  • Trigger Point therapy is a technique designed to alleviate pain and release muscle tension or “knots” by identifying and targeting specific trigger points and applying pressure.

  • Cupping and stretch-based release are techniques used to treat soft tissue injuries and increase flexibility. Cupping therapy involves placing cups on the skin to create suction, a technique utilized to stimulate circulation, relieve tension, and promote the body’s natural healing processes.

  • Dr Prater utilizes Hyperice devices to aid in loosening tight muscles and increasing circulation with heat and vibration technology.
